Head Baker, New York
M has been baking since she could hold a spatula. Following a prolific homebaking career as a kid, she got her first pastry position at age 16 at an Upstate farm-to-table restaurant. She continued to work in kitchens throughout her undergraduate studies, including five incredible summers running an off-grid wilderness camp in Vermont.
M completed her undergraduate studies at Hampshire College, where she earned a BA in a self-designed program of study entitled Perceptional Realities.
Post grad, she moved to New York to pursue culinary full-time, where she has since explored a wide array of settings, notably including Momofuku Milk Bar, and The Food Network production, Chopped. She joined the Butcher's team as Head Chef in the Spring of 2018 to open the market bakery in Williamsburg, leading the production of all bread, dessert, and pastry for the New York locations. When she's not in the bakery, she can be found meditating, mixing house and techno, and learning languages.
